Alyshah Pirwany (she/her)

Pronunciation: Alyshah (uh-lee-shuh) Pirwany (pir-wah-nee)

Alyshah, a third year Psychology student at the University of Alberta, champions mental health awareness. Following her own mental health journey, Alyshah began volunteering at local health clinics, advocating for mental health initiatives, and collaborating with community organizations. Alyshah is dedicated to breaking barriers and creating an inclusive future for all. When she is not working on the VOICE study, Alyshah enjoys painting and watching Bollywood films with her cat, Milo!

Lhezel De Quina (she/her)

Pronunciation: Lhezel (Lee-zel) De Quina (De-kina)

Lhezel is in her fourth year at the University of Alberta, majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. Driven by personal experiences and a deep passion for mental health advocacy, she is committed to bridging the gap between how different generations perceive and approach mental health. She is also actively involved in various volunteer efforts at the Campus Food Bank and hopes to pursue a career in public health, focusing on creating more equitable access to education and healthcare for marginalized communities.

Laetitia Satam (she/her)

Pronunciation: Laetitia (La-tee-sha) Satam (sat-um)

Laetitia is a third year Nutrition student at the University of Alberta. She served as a co-researcher and Knowledge Mobilization Officer for the HEARTS study, which is why she was excited to work on the VOICE study. Laetitia is passionate about equitable knowledge mobilization strategies, to ensure that research is co-created and spread to the populations that will benefit the most from it, and she works to break down barriers to empower health literacy. Outside of mental health research, Laetitia has been volunteering with various mental health organizations since she was 12 years old, is an avid baker, and loves running!

Tiara Gonsalkoralage (she/her)

Pronunciation: Tiara (Tee-ah-rah) Gonsalkoralage (Gon-sal-kor-uh-lah-gay)

 Tiara is a third-year Honors Psychology student at the University of Alberta. She is passionate about mental health awareness and dedicates herself to volunteering with local initiatives and ongoing research exploring innovative therapies for PTSD and other psychopathologies. She seeks to make a meaningful impact by blending lived experience and professional aspirations in mental health advocacy.
